I love this place. I think the people are great, and the food is wonderful. Being able to browse for or read a book in comfort while sipping a cup of their coffee is very relaxing.
I love the smell of old books so I love walking into John Bale. Very cozy book store in downtown Waterbury. They also offer breakfast/lunch food is okay.
Nice place to go grab breakfast or lunch. Different atmosphere. Can eat and check out the selection of books. Like going here when I can.
Their sandwiches are delicious and they offer a wide variety. Enjoy a fruit salad or any number of other treats. A+ in my opinion.
Bale's has some of everything -- homemade soups and stews,frittatas, generously-sized sandwiches, and a wide selection of homemade desserts, including the enormous cupcakes. Grab takeout, or stay and browse their selection of used books.
